Position Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Financial Analyst will leverage their expertise as a CPA to enhance operational processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and initiate cost-saving measures. This role involves:

  • Conducting project-based work focused on continuous improvement.
  • Performing month-end account reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Executing month-end reporting tasks, including project registers and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Collaborating with the Finance team to achieve timely month-end close targets.
  • Maintaining essential Excel documents such as Trial Balance and Profit & Loss statements.
  • Preparing monthly reports and assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Driving initiatives for continuous improvement and developing analytical Excel models.
  • Overseeing the invoicing process for completed contracts and managing customer payment timelines.
  • Maintaining fixed asset records and assisting with treasury functions.
  • Supporting inventory counts and related financial analyses.
  • Conducting sales tax research and reporting.
  • Preparing forecasts and annual budgets while analyzing variances.
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS and SOX regulations.

INTERNAL CONTROLS AND COMPLIANCE:
Maintaining accurate and timely accounting records is essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures within the division.
  • Reviewing business risks and collaborating with management to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Safeguarding company assets through diligent oversight.
Qualifications

Education:
A degree in Finance or Accounting is required, with a preference for candidates holding a CPA designation or currently enrolled in a CPA program.

Experience & Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, across all organizational levels.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • The ability to present information effectively to various audiences.
  • A detail-oriented approach with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive and customer-focused mindset.
  • A willingness to engage in hands-on problem resolution.
  • The capacity to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
