About the Role

Securiguard is seeking experienced and skilled individuals to join our team as Loss Prevention Security Guards. As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our retail clients' assets and minimizing losses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine surveillance and patrols to identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security breaches.
  • Interact with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Investigate suspicious activities, review CCTV footage, and collaborate with law enforcement when necessary.
  • Craft detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Enforce security protocols, de-escalate conflicts, and make lawful arrests when necessary.
Requirements
  • Valid Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR
  • At least 1 year of security experience in a high-profile customer-focused environment such as retail, government, or healthcare.
  • Ability to work at different sites across the Toronto & Greater Toronto Area.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
  • Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code, and 494(c)
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations.
  • Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
  • Strong observational skills and situational awareness
  • Punctuality
  • Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours.
Training and Development

Completion of Use of Force Training and Lawful Subject Restraint, and Crisis Management training are requirements for this role. Annual re-certification is also required. New employees will receive training and orientation through Securiguard University.
