We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at GTA Development Services Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labor and material costs for construction projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Design and implement layouts for construction projects, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
  • Prepare and submit tenders and quotations for construction projects.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and level checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Train and supervise apprentices, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Supervise and lead other workers on construction sites, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
  • Estimate costs and materials for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial properties, including wooden structures in various settings.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the trade.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, noisy environments, and outdoors.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
