GoGeomatics is presenting a full-time career opportunity for a professional with expertise in computer science, information technology (IT), geomatics, or geodesy to become a member of our global positioning team. The chosen candidate will collaborate with a team that oversees and manages the operational networks that provide GoGeomatics' exceptional global real-time service.

Key Responsibilities

The selected individual will remotely monitor and manage ground infrastructure of the Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) networks worldwide, with a primary focus on Canada. The primary objective is to ensure the CORS infrastructure operates at peak performance and to address any issues promptly. As part of a 24x7x365 follow-the-sun network operations team across multiple time zones, the candidate will enjoy a flexible working environment, including the possibility of remote work.

Some responsibilities may involve domestic and international travel (30 – 40%) for troubleshooting, deployment, training, and team meetings.

  • Overseeing the global CORS infrastructure with remote or on-site troubleshooting
  • Coordinating CORS maintenance with third-party vendors
  • Identifying new CORS locations, negotiating site agreements, and managing on-site installations
  • Providing technical guidance and addressing general service inquiries
  • Traveling to designated CORS sites for preventive and corrective maintenance

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical setting
  • Fundamental practical knowledge of IT networking and computer network solutions
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French in a technical context
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to engage effectively with others
  • A willingness to learn and collaborate with an open mindset

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Additional languages: French required; proficiency in other languages such as German, Spanish, or Italian is advantageous
  • A bachelor's or associate's degree in computer science, information technology, geomatics, geodetic surveying, or a related field
  • Capability to install GNSS antennas and cabling on rooftops
  • Experience in field surveying using GPS and data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with GNSS hardware and software from various brands
