Mechanical Maintenance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake moderately complex technical assignments that are part of an ongoing engineering program in support of activities such as production, operation of equipment and systems, under direct supervision.
* Review and understand Waterlancing operating procedures and technicians qualifications.
* During project execution responsible for setting up and maintaining equipment.
* As a junior technician, you will work as a part of a larger team, and your work will be closely supervised.
* Typically can be cross utilized to support Visual Inspection.
Requirements:
* Post-secondary education in technical field is preferred.
* 1 - 2 years experience in a related field would be a preference.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Field projects requires shift work and extended hours.
* Extensive site work is required (50% - 60%).
* Previous experience at a Nuclear Facility (BP, OPG, NBP) is an asset.
* Automation/ control system knowledge is an asset.
* Displays technical competence. Understands the objectives of professional staff but requires direction from Lead Technicians and Supervisors. Technical assistance is provided by Engineers.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance in order to gain access to nuclear power plant sites.
* Must be willing to work in a radiological environment.
