About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at Oakel City Floor Plus Ltd. as a key member of our flooring installation and maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, Measure, and Mark Surfaces: Inspect surfaces to be covered, measure and mark them accurately to ensure a precise fit.
  • Prepare Flooring Plans and Scheduling: Prepare detailed flooring plans and schedules to ensure efficient installation and maintenance.
  • Install Flooring Materials: Install a variety of flooring materials, including carpeting, hardwood, and resilient flooring.
  • Repair and Maintain Flooring: Inspect and repair damaged flooring, and perform routine maintenance to ensure the longevity of our clients' flooring.
  • Conduct Pre-Installation Tests: Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for each installation or repair project.
  • Prepare Floors for Installation: Prepare floors for installation by removing existing flooring, contaminants, and other obstacles.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Physically Demanding: This role requires physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Work Site Environment: Work in a variety of environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
