About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at Oakel City Floor Plus Ltd. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality flooring installations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Prepare Surfaces: Inspect surfaces to be covered and prepare them for installation, including measuring, marking, and cleaning.
  • Install Flooring: Measure, cut, and install carpeting, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors, ensuring a precise and professional finish.
  • Conduct Pre-Installation Tests: Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations to ensure the surface is suitable for the chosen flooring material.
  • Estimate and Prepare Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for each installation and prepare the necessary materials for the job.
  • Remove Existing Floor Coverings: Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants to ensure a smooth and even installation.
  • Install Specialized Flooring: Install outdoor carpets, resilient stair components, and materials on countertops and raised platforms.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installations.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires a high level of physical fitness, as you will be working on your feet for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and performing tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Requirements
  • Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate
  • 1 to Less than 7 Months of Experience
