An Audiovisual Technician plays a crucial role in the setup and management of basic audiovisual systems within a hospitality setting, ensuring utmost customer satisfaction. This position is accountable to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management

  • Guarantees a seamless event by executing precise and timely setup, operation, and dismantling of fundamental audiovisual equipment as outlined in the technical qualifications.

Client Relations

  • Aims to surpass the expectations and requirements of both internal and external clients.
  • Maintains a constructive rapport with all customers through effective communication.
  • Engages with guests on-site to confirm their needs are met and that the equipment setup is functioning correctly.
  • Observes events and checks in with clients throughout the day.
  • Comprehends and nurtures the hotel/client relationship.

Technical Proficiency

  • Possesses a solid understanding of the technical components of the role and demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues.
  • Addresses equipment challenges and modifications promptly and professionally.

Operational Knowledge

  • Grasps company protocols, adheres to procedures, and accurately completes system entries and documentation.
  • Utilizes equipment sheets to identify the equipment scheduled for setup and teardown. Collaborates with other staff and external vendors for equipment needs.
  • Enhances revenue through effective floor up-selling techniques.
  • Works alongside clients to finalize billing.
  • Completes order entries in the designated system as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • Must achieve Technical Level 3 Certification as per the Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within the specified timeframe.
  • One year of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
  • One year of audiovisual experience or equivalent educational experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for team members who may operate company vehicles.
  • Additional regulatory requirements may need to be fulfilled if applicable.
