About the Role
Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the position of Director of Care and Operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring the highest level of care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement nursing department initiatives and functions to improve resident care and outcomes.
- Lead the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Effectively manage the utilization of nursing supplies and resources to optimize care delivery.
- Maintain a system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program level, ensuring individualized care plans.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and quality care.
- Investigate and address occupational health and safety concerns, working with WSIB claims and return-to-work plans.
- Participate in special projects, reviews, and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and excellence in care.
- Assume responsibility for the nursing department, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality care delivery.
Requirements
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- A passion for caring for seniors and a commitment to delivering exceptional care.
- Demonstrated experience with WSIB management and occupational health and safety practices.
- Experience with falls and harm reduction strategies is an asset.
- Previous similar experience in long-term care is an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and comprehension skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with staff and stakeholders.
- Developed creative problem-solving skills to address complex care challenges and drive positive outcomes.
