Position Overview

CIMA+ is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Linear Infrastructure division to oversee projects primarily located in the Greater Toronto Area. In this pivotal role, you will direct the design and execution of large-scale Linear Water and Wastewater initiatives while nurturing a diverse team of professionals. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams on exciting infrastructure projects.

We embrace a hybrid work model, with expectations of being in the office 1-2 days per week. Opportunities exist across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide project teams through all stages of planning, design, construction, and commissioning of significant Linear Water and Wastewater projects.
  • Prepare and/or supervise engineering analyses, environmental assessments, reports, calculations, plans, and contract documents related to water and wastewater projects.
  • Independently generate cost estimates and construction specifications in collaboration with project staff.
  • Engage directly with clients, demonstrating autonomy and expertise.
  • Lead or support the pursuit of new projects, including technical writing and proposal development.
  • Foster relationships with current and prospective clients to enhance our local water and wastewater practice.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Linear Water/Wastewater Group.
  • Manage project resources, timelines, budgets, quality assurance, and risk assessments to meet client expectations effectively.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, project stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior staff on the fundamentals of detailed design and project management skills, emphasizing training and development.
  • Work on projects in remote locations and assist other offices in delivering large-scale Linear Water and Wastewater projects.
  • Break down projects into manageable tasks and sequences to ensure timely delivery within established parameters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer designation registered with PEO (or eligibility to transfer registration).
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in Linear Water/Wastewater projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects valued at $2.5 million and above.
  • Experience with tunneling and/or rehabilitation projects is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in using virtual meeting software and leading online meetings and workshops.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for project plans and presentations.
