Estimator Opportunity at Torus Talent

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our client's Infrastructure division in British Columbia. This role is crucial for contributing to innovative transit and transportation projects, ensuring accurate estimating and analysis to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the project scope of work.
  • Prepare preliminary construction schedules based on self-perform productivities and subcontractor input.
  • Identify and develop constructability requirements for project construction.
  • Participate in risk identification, cost mitigation, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Review subcontractor bids for irregularities and completeness.
  • Lead bid closing activities, with oversight from a senior estimator when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • ~5+ years of construction-related experience, including 2 years of on-site experience in cost estimating or construction management.
  • ~ Proficiency in MS Excel, scheduling software (Primavera preferred), quantification software (such as OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Agtek), and BIM modeling is an asset.
