Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Wellness Nurse to join our team in the Greater Sudbury area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and services to our residents, including medication administration, wound care, and other nursing duties.

- Assess and evaluate the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and services are provided to residents.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge and skills.
- Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to healthcare and nursing practice.
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing (Registered Practical Nursing Program) or Registered Nursing Program with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Theoretical and applied knowledge of the Practice Standards set out by the Ontario College of Nurses.
- Must have relevant experience working within the full scope of practice, including medication administration, within the last two years.
- Completion of RPN standardization (all modules) required.
- Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training certificate is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Meditech Client Service, OE, and GRASP software.
- Capable of practicing within the full scope of an RPN/RN, including medication administration.
- Knowledgeable about community support services, home and community care, rehabilitative services, adult day programs, and other social services.
- Effective team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work cooperatively with staff, patients, physicians, volunteers, and the public.
- Skilled in using patient care equipment.
- Familiar with Ontario Hospital Association/Medical Association Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocols.
- Able to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Compliant with HSN's privacy policy and committed to the safety of coworkers and patients.
- Works well independently and under pressure.
- Relates well to staff, residents, and families with patience, tolerance, and confidentiality.
- Maintains a positive work and attendance record.
- Uses tact and discretion with healthcare providers and employees.
- Committed to ongoing professional development and handles confidential issues professionally.
- Capable of meeting the physical and sensory demands of the job.
- Empathetic and understanding of the needs of the elderly and disabled.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 6 months of employment start date) and TB testing required.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
