What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Application Developer to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex data-driven applications using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable and high-performance data processing systems using Big Data technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven applications with existing systems
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code using Agile development methodologies
  • Ensure data security and integrity through robust data governance practices
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Big Data and Cloud Computing

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and Scala
  • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Strong understanding of data governance and security practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
