About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Community Support Worker to join our Merritt Community Inclusion program. As a member of our team, you will support adults with diverse abilities to reach their potential and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual plans to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Provide recreational activities, including sports, crafts, and community participation, to enhance clients' independence and confidence.
  • Support clients with mobility challenges, including physical support and transportation.
  • Monitor clients' personal care and health needs, and perform personal care as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients, caregivers, and other professionals to assess individual needs and develop goals.
  • Assess health and safety concerns and ensure protocols are applied to maximize health and safety standards.
  • Administer medication as needed, following agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
Requirements
  • Community or School Support Worker Certificate, with a Diploma an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience working with individuals with diverse abilities.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Physical requirements include supporting individuals in wheelchairs, lifting, transferring, and assisting clients safely in and out of vehicles.
  • Following training is required and provided to the successful candidate free of charge.
