ABOUT THIS POSITION
Black & McDonald Limited is in search of an HVAC/R Service Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, enhancement, troubleshooting, and repair of various HVAC/R and gas systems across a diverse range of facilities, ensuring the equipment operates at its optimal lifespan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and service HVAC/R and gas systems in line with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
- Execute digital work orders, comprehensive reports, and daily digital time logs.
- Uphold safe working environments in strict accordance with company policies.

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC/R service and maintenance for commercial properties.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Certification as a Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic.
- Gas A (G1) Certification (or Apprentice level).
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Security Clearance and other site-specific clearances.
- Familiarity with mobile technology is advantageous.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficient in interpreting HVAC and mechanical schematics, electrical diagrams, and line drawings.
- Knowledge of various electronic, pneumatic, and DDC control systems is beneficial.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
