EHS Manager

CertainTeed Canada is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team in Mississauga. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing leadership to our Health, Safety, and Environment programs, ensuring compliance with corporate and provincial legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze EHS data to inform and drive decision-making, ensuring alignment with our World Class Manufacturing framework.
- Conduct regular inspections and evaluations to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Develop and implement EHS training programs, promoting a culture of safety and wellness among employees.
- Liaise with government entities and maintain all necessary permits and certifications.
- Audit and ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain Safety Standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead and facilitate Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings, fostering open communication and collaboration among team members.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring the well-being of employees and the environment.
- Investigate and analyze safety incidents, identifying root causes and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and implement safety risk reduction project plans, leveraging data and analytics to drive results.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure safety and environmental considerations are integrated into all aspects of project delivery.
- Identify and develop solutions to safety and environmental opportunities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- University degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an EHS Manager or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of success in a union industrial manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Windows-based applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software systems.
