Position Overview

The International Admissions Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the recruitment and admission of students from abroad into the diverse offerings at Douglas College. Reporting to the Supervisor of International Recruitment & Admissions, this position is integral in executing marketing and recruitment strategies aimed at building and nurturing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders while overseeing the entire admission process from initial inquiries to final enrollment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Relationship Management: Establish and maintain connections with key international partners, educational institutions, and community organizations to promote Douglas College.
  2. Event Coordination: Plan and execute a variety of recruitment events, both virtually and in-person, to engage prospective students and stakeholders.
  3. Admissions Processing: Evaluate and process applications from international students, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  4. Stakeholder Support: Provide essential information and support to various departments within the college regarding international admissions and educational systems.
  5. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records and databases related to international student admissions and recruitment activities.
  6. Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee the work of student assistants and volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Engage in professional development and networking opportunities to enhance recruitment strategies and practices.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of experience in international education or related areas.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of international student recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English and knowledge of a second language preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

This role requires a proactive approach to fostering relationships and enhancing the college's international presence while ensuring a high standard of service to prospective students.
