Position Overview

As a Leadhand, you will be responsible for directing, organizing, and assigning tasks to your designated team. Your role will include training on operational procedures, performance standards, and the core values of Safety, Quality, and Integrity upheld by Miller Paving AMC.

Your daily responsibilities will involve conducting routine inspections of highways, identifying any deficiencies, and reporting to the Patrol Supervisor as necessary. You will also be tasked with performing quality control checks to ensure that all work meets or exceeds the established quality specifications.

Effective communication with on-site authorities and coordination with central dispatch will be essential to guarantee that sufficient resources are available for maintaining public safety, especially during challenging weather conditions.

In addition to patrolling and executing minor repairs, you will carry out daily vehicle inspections, perform cleaning, and conduct minor maintenance tasks. Estimating the time, materials, and equipment needed for various tasks will also be part of your duties. Safety will be your utmost priority, as you will lead regular safety discussions with the team and manage traffic control at incident scenes, including making critical decisions regarding snow and ice management.

Being organized is crucial, as you will be responsible for accurately completing and submitting daily logs, time sheets, and fuel records in a timely manner.
