Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing services in alignment with established protocols, physician directives, and the individualized care plans for residents.
  • Apply sound nursing principles to guarantee the provision of high-quality nursing and personal care in designated areas.
  • Facilitate a smooth and comprehensive admission process for residents, ensuring they are well-oriented to the facility and its services.
  • Oversee timely and secure transfers and discharges of residents.
  • Manage the inventory, control, and secure storage of medications, ensuring compliance with protocols during all assigned shifts.
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to address the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent qualification.
  • Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to interact with others in a compassionate and supportive manner.
  • Respect for each resident as an individual, recognizing their need for dignity and privacy, and their right to participate in decisions regarding their care.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and standards governing long-term care and nursing practices.
  • Medical clearance, including necessary health assessments.
  • Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check. All staff must provide proof of vaccination, comply with health and safety protocols, and wear appropriate protective equipment.
