Job Title: Assistant Professor - Environmental Chemistry and Health

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Environmental Chemistry and Health at the University of Toronto Scarborough.

The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough is a vibrant and dynamic community of scholars dedicated to advancing our understanding of the natural world. Our department is committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service, and we are seeking a colleague who shares our passion for environmental chemistry and health.

Job Summary

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in environmental chemistry and bioanalytical chemistry and/or biological chemistry. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, establish an outstanding research program, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Chemistry program.

Responsibilities
  • Pursue innovative and independent research in environmental chemistry and health
  • Establish an outstanding research program with a strong focus on environmental chemistry and bioanalytical chemistry and/or biological chemistry
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Chemistry program
  • Contribute to the graduate core course in environmental chemistry and participate in the graduate environmental chemistry program
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in Chemistry or a closely related field, a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, and expertise in environmental chemistry and bioanalytical chemistry and/or biological chemistry. The candidate must also have a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
