The Training Specialist is a key member of our team who drives safety, quality, and performance excellence through the implementation, support, and use of digital tools and technology, including POKA. This role is responsible for fostering a continuous improvement culture at Barry Callebaut Brantford, ensuring food and employee safety in daily routines.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage, facilitate, and update all training programs to ensure operational excellence.
- Lead the development and deployment of the POKA Connected Worker Platform to enhance digital capabilities.
- Collaborate with Operations Managers and Supervisors to identify and assess training needs, developing and delivering training programs and systems for all shifts.
- Coach operational stakeholders to increase digital system capabilities through on-the-job training and coaching.
- Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics, using data visualization tools to create dashboards and support data-driven decisions.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities and track results, leading and participating in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements and scope for training programs.
- Meet/exceed requirements for food safety and employee safety.
- Three to five years' experience in a Training role, required.
- Post-secondary education in English, Journalism, or a related field, a plus.
- Experience with POKA, including Microsoft Office and Google Workplace, required.
- Experience in continuous improvement, change management, and problem-solving through quantitative, analytical, and process improvement, a must.
- Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, a must.
- Technical writing experience, considered a plus.
- Fluency in English, a must.
- Ability to support and work in a 24/7 environment, a must.
- Ability to stand on concrete floors for long periods.
- Long periods of computer usage, finger dexterity, and hand movement for keyboard and mouse use, repetitive motion.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures, in and outside the facility.
- Noise level can exceed 0.85 decibels.
