Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a driven Senior Business Development Specialist to contribute to our growing team. This role will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager, Business Development, and will focus on acquiring new clients within the mid-to-large enterprise sector across Canada.

The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying new business opportunities, skilled at building strong relationships, and detail-oriented in providing tailored solutions to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully balance closing new business with nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Proactively solicit, counsel, and provide quotes to potential new clients.
  • Manage the entire sales process from initial contact through implementation.
  • Handle all aspects of employee benefits programs, ensuring comprehensive coverage and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the employee benefits industry.
  • Possession of an LLQP license or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Exceptional social skills and a confident demeanor when interacting with clients.
  • A customer-centric approach, exhibiting friendliness and professionalism in all interactions.
  • A consultative sales style, focusing on understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and social media platforms.
  • GBA or CEBS designation is a significant asset.
