Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations, evaluations, analyses, negotiations, and resolutions of property claims of varying complexities.
  • Interpret policy stipulations, relevant legislation, and validate coverage for clients.
  • Facilitate investigations, which may involve gathering phone statements, coordinating with service providers, and consulting with contractors and vendors.
  • Assess liability, salvage, and subrogation risks and possibilities.
  • Communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders throughout the claims process.
  • Review and assess initial claims to ensure they meet the required criteria.
  • Address client grievances and manage appeals effectively.
  • Determine appropriate loss reserves based on risk exposure and authority levels.
  • Review claims files managed by Independent Adjusters when necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain various reports related to property claims.
  • Provide general support to the claims department and assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of advanced experience in property claims, including handling large and complex cases.
  • Must possess a personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and comply with provincial regulations for vehicle operation.
  • Relevant post-secondary education is required.
  • CIP designation or progress towards obtaining it is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills are crucial.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a clear career trajectory.
