The Senior Account Manager - CMHC, Commercial Services is a key role within FirstOntario Credit Union Limited, responsible for delivering exceptional service to existing and new Business Members while embedding the organization into the community as a preferred business lender. This position plays a critical role in supporting FirstOntario's strategic goals by achieving sales targets in loans, mortgages, deposits, and fees, with a focus on driving business primarily in CMHC Multi-unit Residential assets.
Key Responsibilities- Provide trusted advice and dedicated support to Business Members, leading to increased volumes of commercial CMHC insured business.
- Underwrite, manage, and administer commercial loans within the portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and FirstOntario policies.
- Originate CMHC insured multi-residential mortgage business, both directly and through third-party partners, while maintaining strong relationships with Treasury Department.
- Work closely with Treasury to develop and maintain third-party relationships, ensuring seamless execution of commercial lending activities.
- Review and adjudicate commercial credit files, with a focus on CMHC transactions, to ensure risk mitigating strategies are implemented and audit requirements are met.
- Proactively manage credit portfolio reviews, ensuring timely completion of annual reviews and tracking, pursuing, and analyzing annual reporting requirements from each Business Member.
- Identify areas of opportunity within sales targets and implement action plans to drive business growth.
- Develop and execute a disciplined sales/service plan, leveraging campaigns developed by business partners to achieve annual financial targets.
- Act as a point person for third-party CMHC origination partner firms, working closely with Treasury to drive business growth.
- Actively solicit new CMHC origination business and develop a network within the CMHC MURM sector.
- Develop subject matter expertise in the CMHC MURM sector for FirstOntario, driving business growth and market share.
- Collaborate with Treasury on securitization opportunities for CMHC insured MURMs, ensuring alignment with FirstOntario's strategic goals.
- Engage with the local business community by joining local business associations and representing FirstOntario at special business events, promoting the organization's brand and services.
- Prioritize health and safety as a primary concern, ensuring the overall well-being of self and others.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Commerce, and/or Economics, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong business acumen, with 4-6 years of experience in Business/Commercial banking or equivalent Member-facing and/or Credit adjudication roles.
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate underwriting, with Development and Construction underwriting considered an asset.
- CMHC underwriting experience an asset.
- Stay current on credit and investment product and services, as well as FirstOntario's processes.
- Demonstrate sales management skills in setting and monitoring sales targets, plans, pipelines, and activities.
- Aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, legislation, and FirstOntario policies and procedures.
- Will to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as the job demands, and travel to meet Business Member needs.
