Courier Service Driver Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Courier Service Driver to join our team at Canada Courier System.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, maintaining effective communication.
  • Keep a record of items received and delivered, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Load and unload goods, handling packages with care.
  • Sort packages for delivery, prioritizing efficiency and organization.
  • Follow directions and read maps to navigate routes, ensuring timely arrivals.
  • Use maps and other trip planning aids to optimize routes and reduce travel time.
  • Record trip information, including vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any issues encountered.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns.
Requirements:
  • Local transportation/travel experience.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Availability for shift or on-call work.
  • Previous experience in this field of employment is an asset.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
