Job Summary

Rodan Energy Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee the planning, development, and operation of nuclear generation facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, physics, and mathematics, as well as experience in project management and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and input on managed system items affecting the organization
  • Review and identify items within the managed system that are not applicable to the organization and can be exempted
  • Collate data for department budget preparation and monitor variances to annual budget
  • Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve problems, and coordinate technical work in support of commissioning, operation, and maintenance of facilities
  • Assess, evaluate, and recommend initial disposition of problems
  • Prepare submissions, including cost justification and financial evaluation, and recommend adoption of proposals
  • Submit necessary documentation for approval or forwarding
  • Discuss installation or implementation with concerned persons and ensure that installations are as intended
  • Keep abreast of maintenance and operating problems and take action to implement change as appropriate
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field for use in incorporating same in department equipment or operation

Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge of physics, engineering, mathematics, and chemistry as related to design requirements, stress, materials, and total system performance
  • Requires knowledge of construction/installation methods as related to major installations
  • Requires knowledge of business processes to provide cost estimates and trends concerning generating station design, construction, and commissioning
  • Requires knowledge of English, both oral and in written form
  • Experience developing department/division procedures
  • Experience on planning and strategy for large-scale projects
  • Experience on projects within the nuclear industry or on decommissioning projects is an asset
  • Understanding of industry processes and procedures
  • Experience working at a nuclear generation facility is an asset
  • Effective use of Visio, Microsoft Office products, and Sharepoint
  • Knowledge of project management principles, including managing budgets and schedules

Experience

  • Requires experience in the design, development, and operations of a nuclear generation facility to plan and develop engineered solutions and to evaluate/verify components and materials
  • Requires experience to become familiar with plant systems/processes involved in the design, construction, installation, and commissioning associated with an industrial environment
  • Requires generalized experience to appreciate manufacturing and supply techniques
  • Requires experience in project management to effectively schedule events and control project scope and cost
  • Requires experience to coordinate project staff efforts and that of other work groups to meet project objectives and to create and sustain a positive, team environment
  • Managed System experience is a benefit
