Senior Development Accountant, About the Role:

Our client, a rapidly growing organization, is seeking a Senior Development Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience within the real estate, construction, or property management industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting for development projects with minimal supervision.
  • Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system, including budgets, costs incurred, and projected final costs.
  • Prepare loan draws and capital calls as required.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial results and operating metrics.
  • Coordinate with development and finance to track and report projected cash needs for all projects.
  • Monitor committed costs and projected final costs relative to changes in contracts and commitments.
  • Work with the property accounting team to transition properties under development to income-producing.

Requirements:
  • Professional accounting designation or equivalent commercial real estate accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years accounting experience in a development and construction accounting environment.
  • Specialized computer skills in software including Yardi, JD Edwards, and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication, written and verbal.
