We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Accountant to join our team at TalentSphere Staffing Solutions. As a Senior Development Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing a portfolio of commercial and residential properties under development across different entities within a Domestic portfolio.
About the Role:The Senior Development Accountant will be responsible for handling all aspects of accounting for development projects with minimal supervision. This includes setting up and maintaining projects in the accounting system's job cost, preparing loan draws and capital calls, and providing timely and accurate analysis of financial results and operating metrics.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the accounting for development projects, including setting up and maintaining projects in the accounting system's job cost.
- Prepare loan draws and capital calls as required.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial results and operating metrics.
- Coordinate with development and finance to track and report projected cash needs for all projects.
- Track holdbacks and holdback releases in accordance with provincial lien holdback legislation.
- Monitor committed costs and projected final costs relative to changes in contracts and commitments.
- Work with property accounting team to transition properties under development to income producing.
We are looking for a professional with a strong accounting background and experience in development and construction accounting. You will have a professional accounting designation or equivalent commercial real estate accounting experience, and a minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience in a development and construction accounting environment.
You will have specialized computer skills in a range of software including Yardi, JD Edwards enterprise software, and Microsoft Office. Effective communication, written and verbal skills are essential for this role.
