  • Oversee and analyze portfolio trends, providing timely insights on evolving portfolio metrics and key performance indicators to meet annual objectives.
  • Participate in routine portfolio performance evaluations, including weekly and monthly results, monthly forecasting, and annual planning in collaboration with the Product Team and Finance.
  • Design and implement financial models to assess business performance.
  • Monitor competitor offerings to ensure the strategic positioning of the investment portfolio.
  • Continuously refine and enhance rate optimization models and their methodologies to ensure competitive rates that align with financial and non-financial objectives.
  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of portfolio models for business analysis and pricing exceptions.
  • Comprehend data intricacies and recommend solutions for the design of input and output files when new analytics or reports are required.
  • Manage or support special projects or ad-hoc assignments for Retail Deposits & Investments in collaboration with business lines, finance, analytics, retail channels, and external partners.
  • Oversee the Deposits Exception Pricing Desk and the SmartBot tool, providing support across various banking channels.
  • Track and deliver key insights to the Pricing committee regarding exception trends and competitor offerings.
  • Assist in managing the GIC Early Redemption inbox to evaluate exception cases for redeeming non-redeemable GICs.
  • Facilitate the pricing optimization and execution of approved pricing changes across Retail Products and Advisor Deposit Services to ensure a positive customer experience while safeguarding P&L and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency by improving processes and tools.
  • Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture, integrating these considerations into daily activities and decisions.
  • Pursue effective and efficient operations in alignment with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring compliance with operational, regulatory, and conduct risk obligations.
  • Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace culture.

Do you possess the skills necessary for success in this role? We would be excited to collaborate with you if you have:

  • Relevant post-secondary education; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Several years of experience in the financial services sector.
  • Experience in product P&L management, finance, or business analytics.
  • A solid understanding of the GIC market, including products, services, and processes.
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities.
  • Proven project management skills to prioritize and implement competing initiatives.
  • Excellent time management capabilities with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAS/SQL is advantageous.
