Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Director to join our team in Toronto. The successful candidate will provide Canadian international tax support and play a key role in shaping our tax strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • International Tax Planning
    • Analyze and model the Canadian tax implications of foreign affiliate transactions
    • Draft and review tax plans
    • Analyze foreign affiliate financial statements
    • Review legal agreements
    • Communicate Canadian tax considerations to stakeholders globally
  • Transaction Coordination
    • Coordinate internal and external teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation of transactions
  • Compliance and Reporting
    • Work with accounting and compliance teams to ensure transactions are accurately documented and reported
    • Draft funds flow memos
    • Collaborate with professionals to ensure compliance with internal protocols
    • Stay current with changing tax laws
  • International Tax Compliance
    • Assist with international tax compliance and reporting
    • Communicate with government and financial statement auditors

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of progressive Canadian tax experience
  • Experience managing large and complex transactions
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Skilled in the use of Excel for modeling
