Position: Business Analyst, Technical

CB Canada is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support our Healthcare client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with various business sectors, application teams, and external partners, including stakeholders, to implement essential strategies and organizational goals.

• Lead business analysis efforts to comprehend, evaluate, and document business requirements, converting them into functional specifications and/or process workflows.

• Engage with stakeholders to identify undefined or ambiguous business processes and requirements.

• Facilitate discussions with business teams to gather, capture, and document requirements (business, functional, non-functional, and transitional).

• Draft Business Cases and assist in the RFx process and contract development, supporting the business in vendor selection through RFPs.

• Evaluate and document discussions with business units to assess how well the solutions provided by the project team align with business needs.

• Develop business, process, data, and workflow models to clarify frequently ambiguous requirements.

• Act as a liaison to facilitate requirements between the project team and third-party vendors.

• Track requirements throughout the project lifecycle by developing a traceability matrix.

• Create, define, and construct application-based business cases, briefing notes, and decision documents to enable business and technological transformations.

• Develop use cases, test plans, and collaborate with business areas to formulate user acceptance test scripts.

• Conduct testing with system developers and/or business leads to ensure the overall functionality and technical quality of deliverables.

• Generate functional specifications for conversions, upgrades, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflows as necessary.

• Ensure that requirements for changes and enhancements are clearly defined, approved, and follow the appropriate testing and migration protocols.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for newly adopted systems, system upgrades, or modified services.

• Guide clients or users through each step of the process, identifying and suggesting improvements.

• Contribute to Privacy and Security reviews and assessments to help define risk, contingency, and mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with business units to identify, develop, and deliver training to support end users.

• Create Service Level Agreements and Standard Operating Procedures with service and support teams.

• Conduct independent research to troubleshoot and learn about related technologies for project-related applications and services.

• Provide routine systems and end-user support related to applications managed by the Application Services team.

• Partner with various departments on tasks related to efficiency initiatives, including task automation and process streamlining.

• Monitor and respond to IMIT Intake requests and may conduct Post Implementation Reviews.

• Perform current state analysis and document process flows.

• Offer coaching and leadership to junior team members.

• Undertake other related duties as assigned.

Mandatory Skills:

Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in Business Analysis within enterprise-scale projects, with a strong understanding of the underlying technical architecture.

• At least five (5) years of experience in BC/Canadian healthcare projects as a Business Analyst.

• Minimum of five (5) years of technical experience with mobile devices, infrastructure, databases, SharePoint, web applications, cloud, desktop/laptop, networks, and security.

• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in the English language.

• Experience in providing training/orientation to adults on new technologies and concepts.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Advanced problem-solving skills.

Knowledge:

• Familiarity with IIBA - BABOK guide and standards.

• Solid understanding of the Project Management Institute's PMBOK.

• Knowledge of business analysis documentation standards, methodologies, and best practices.

• Awareness of current WAN technologies, including MPLS, DMVPN, Satellite, Microwave, and Wireless.

• Understanding of Network Security Design methodology.

• Knowledge of mobile devices, infrastructure, databases, SharePoint, and web solutions.

• Familiarity with First Nations healthcare and/or culture is an asset.

• Ability to work within design teams and mentor IT colleagues.

• Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.

• Sensitivity to and understanding of key issues and opportunities for BC First Nations health and wellness.

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing and prioritizing multiple competing projects/initiatives.

• Team player with a strong customer service orientation and diplomacy while engaging with multiple stakeholders.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Occupational Certification:

• Relevant certifications and professional development/continuing education preferred (e.g., CBAP).

• ITIL Foundation Version 3.0 Certification.

• CompTIA A+ Certification preferred.

• CompTIA Network+ Certification preferred.

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) preferred.
