Job Summary:

BQ International Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive solutions that align with our business requirements and architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implementation: Develop and implement technical solutions that meet business needs, ensuring alignment with our architectural standards and best practices.
  2. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams, ensuring successful delivery of solutions and services.
  3. Solution Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of solutions, providing recommendations for technology procurement and implementation.
  4. Proof of Concepts: Develop and implement proof of concepts to demonstrate business value and feasibility of solutions.
  5. Architecture Committee: Contribute to architecture committees, enhancing architectural practices and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to develop conceptual and detailed architecture designs, providing guidance across business, information, application, and technical perspectives.
  7. Risk Management: Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Requirements:

  1. Expert Communication: Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create tailored content and present effectively.
  2. Business Alignment: Experience working closely with the business to guide them through the solution's process and into final delivery.
  3. Digital Transformation: Experience designing and implementing technology solutions that enable an organization to achieve its digital transformation goals.
  4. System Integration: Experience integrating systems using out-of-the-box and custom connectors.
  5. Government Experience: Canadian federal, provincial, municipal government, or similar work experience.
  6. Architectural Methodologies: Experience with architectural methodologies and education: bachelor's degree, certifications, or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Technical Lead Experience: Must have experience as a technical lead on two large-scale ($1 Million+) IT projects in a Solution Architect role.
  • SaaS Experience: Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) systems and integration to/from modern enterprise systems.
  • Governance Framework: Experience working within a governance framework for change, project, and information management.
  • On-Site Work: Full-time on-site work at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
