Job Title: Instructor - Safety and Emergency Response

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructor to join our team at the Safety & Emergency Response Training Centre. As an instructor, you will play a critical role in delivering theoretical and practical instruction and training in NFPA Certification courses, Industrial courses, and Marine Emergency Response courses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver classroom instruction and practical demonstrations in firefighting, industrial safety, and emergency response
  • Assist with marine survival training and provide a supervisor role in all practical exercises
  • Develop and maintain new and existing courses under the direction of applicable standards and the Director of OSSC
  • Perform administrative duties, including maintenance and inspections
Requirements:
  • At least four (6) years of relevant experience in a firefighting and/or emergency response setting
  • Relevant NFPA certifications, including NFPA 1001 Level 2, NFPA 1041, NFPA 1021, and NFPA 1002
  • College-level certification related to the emergency response sector or approved equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and around an aquatic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Superior education and relevant industry certificates
  • Previous teaching experience and/or additional related qualifications
  • Approved by St. John Ambulance or Red Cross to deliver first aid training, NFPA 1081, and GWO certifications
