Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of multiplayer environment design and layout, coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of how level architecture influences a balanced multiplayer gameplay experience. This role requires exceptional communication abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a diverse, cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the development of levels through iterative processes from initial concept to completed design.
  • Comprehend and advocate for the creative vision of a level in partnership with directors and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and fellow level designers to produce multiplayer settings that reflect the game’s artistic direction.
  • Engage in the cooperative process with other designers, artists, animators, and engineers to craft levels that are not only enjoyable but also visually appealing and technically sound.
  • Maintain awareness of the scope and potential risks associated with level features, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in designing levels for FPS or similar multiplayer games.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality level designs for multiplayer FPS titles.
  • Ability to present process documentation, including sketches, grey box designs, and detailed documentation.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine or comparable game development platforms.
  • Experience with visual scripting systems such as Unreal blueprints.
  • Knowledge of constructing levels using modular assets.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Capability to establish playtest objectives and effectively incorporate feedback for iterative improvements.
  • Ability to provide thorough critiques of level designs.
  • Self-motivated and driven individual.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with version control systems (Perforce) and project management tools (Jira).
