We operate in various business divisions, including metal recycling, decommissioning and demolition, auto-parts sales and recycling, manufacturing of solder assemblies, construction waste recycling, and production of customized industrial and mining products.

Job Description

The Senior Financial Consolidation Specialist reports directly to the Financial Reporting Manager and is responsible for preparing consolidated results, including compliance reports on a monthly and quarterly basis. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to develop a solid understanding of systems, data flows, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements, including compliance reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Handle accounting for newly acquired or created entities
  • Resolve complex accounting issues
  • Participate in the annual external audit process and in the preparation of external financial statements
  • Verify consolidated results for compliance with credit facility financial covenants and baskets
  • Verify results of divisions and entities in group for accuracy and completeness
  • Participate in the deployment of new systems or the improvement of existing systems and processes
  • Develop and maintain an accounting operations manual
  • Document, review, and improve the effectiveness of reporting processes and procedures
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical information for governmental organizations
  • Perform various ad hoc tasks, including requests from various departments within the company

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and a professional CPA designation
  • Between two (2) and five (5) years' relevant experience in financial consolidation and reporting within a large, complex organization with several divisions and sites
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Excellent analytical skills and team spirit
  • Bilingual (English and French), both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 and CCH Tagetik consolidation software (an asset)
