The Lead Financial Consolidation Specialist will report directly to the Financial Reporting Manager. This position demands a meticulous approach and the capability to gain a comprehensive understanding of systems, data flows, and reporting mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare consolidated financial results, including compliance documentation on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Manage accounting processes for newly acquired or established entities.
- Address complex accounting challenges as they arise.
- Engage in the annual external audit process and assist in the preparation of external financial statements.
- Ensure consolidated results comply with financial covenants and requirements of credit facilities.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of results from divisions and entities within the group.
- Contribute to the implementation of new systems or enhancements to existing processes.
- Assist in the creation of an accounting operations manual.
- Document, assess, and enhance the efficiency of reporting processes and procedures.
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical data for governmental reporting.
- Address various ad hoc requests from different departments within the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting along with a professional CPA designation.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in financial consolidation and reporting within a large, multifaceted organization.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Strong analytical skills coupled with a collaborative team spirit.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with Microsoft D365 and CCH Tagetik consolidation software is considered an asset.
