Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Direction
    • Provide leadership and direction to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Care to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Clinical Expertise
    • Utilize your extensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
    • Conduct regular clinical chart audits to ensure compliance with documentation, standards, internal policies, and legislations.
  • Quality Improvement
    • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care to residents.
    • Collaborate with the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee to develop, track, and evaluate quality and risk indicators.
  • Human Resources
    • Recruit, hire, and develop nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
    • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff to ensure compliance with human resources policies and procedures.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Registered Nurse or a Registered Nurse registered with a regulatory authority in a Canadian jurisdiction, other than Ontario, and holds in that jurisdiction the equivalent of a certificate of registration authorizing independent practice in Ontario as of right exemption Bill 60.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of two (2) years of managerial experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Skills
    • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices.
    • Proficiency in electronic health records.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, motivate, lead, and support team members.
