Job Title: Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist
At William Osler Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our Laboratory Medicine department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained in our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced technical functions, quality assurance, and quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results
- Act as a subject matter expert and resource for staff, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory policies
- Collaborate with peers and supervisors to address conflicts and develop solutions that promote a positive and productive work environment
- Participate in the development and review of technical procedures to ensure they are current, accurate, and aligned with industry best practices
- Maintain strong knowledge of current methodologies and evidence-based practices in laboratory medicine
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited medical laboratory technology program
- Registered with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
- Minimum three years experience as a laboratory technologist, with a proven track record of leadership and technical expertise
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills, with a strong commitment to quality and patient safety
