Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of laboratory technologists and ensuring the delivery of high-quality laboratory services. You will work closely with our clinical services manager and charge technologist to develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of laboratory technologists and provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality laboratory services.
- Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures in collaboration with our clinical services manager and charge technologist.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with our quality manager to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the development and review of technical procedures and protocols.
- Provide input to staff performance appraisals and contribute to the development of staff training programs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited medical laboratory technology program or equivalent education.
- Registered with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
- Minimum three years experience as a laboratory technologist required.
- Experience with hospital information systems, laboratory information systems, and Paradigm document control software required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor and coach staff.
