About the Role

Xcel Construction Limited is seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our team. As an Apprentice Electrician, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Assist in the installation of electrical systems, including underground wiring and cables, surface mount and/or overhead cables, and power generation systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults, including identifying and resolving issues with electrical circuits and systems.
  • Design and Construction: Assist in the design and construction of single-phase and multiphase electrical services, including determining the appropriate selection of materials and methods for hazardous locations.
  • Testing and Measurement: Test and measure voltage, loads, and ground faults to ensure the integrity of electrical circuits and systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation of electrical work, including maintenance reports and inspection records.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective completion of electrical projects, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program in electrical technology or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the electrical trade.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems and principles, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
