About the Role

Xcel Construction Limited is seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our team. As an Apprentice Electrician, you will assist experienced electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of electrical systems, including underground wiring and cables, surface mount and/or overhead cables, and power generation systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs to ensure the integrity of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand electrical system designs.
  • Collaborate with experienced electricians to complete electrical projects.
  • Develop skills in electrical safety procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance electrical knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in electrical work or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and overtime requirements.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in electrical technology an asset.
