Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a skilled Materials Technician to join our team on a project in Voisey's Bay, Labrador. The successful candidate will conduct laboratory and field testing on aggregate, soils, concrete, and grout, and will work primarily within a small crew to provide quality control and assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a wide variety of laboratory and field testing on aggregate, soils, concrete, and grout
  • Collect, prepare, and review field notes and relate data for presentation to clients or supervisors
  • Attend client meetings (safety, quality, and contractual) and manage daily work schedules
  • Perform equipment calibrations and certifications

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of related materials testing experience
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in concrete testing and use of a nuclear densometer
  • Experience in aggregate sampling and laboratory test procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and analytical abilities
  • Technical competence and attention to detail
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and willingness to work in remote sites for extended periods of time
