Job Title: Logistics Operations Specialist
Reports to: Operations Manager
Department: Logistics
Location: Accessible and conveniently located near various transit options.
Morning schedule: 8:30 am to 4 pm
Key Responsibilities:
• Efficiently load, unload, and transport samples and materials using manual handling or basic equipment.
• Operate loaders and other machinery to move materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading areas.
• Accurately log and store samples in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as per established protocols.
• Ensure that all files, boxes, and rejects stored in the facility are documented for prompt retrieval as needed.
• Address client requests for disposal and returns that have exceeded the free storage period, conducting quality checks for accuracy.
• Maintain supply levels for laboratory requirements and transport samples/rejects to storage.
• Operate and uphold equipment in accordance with documented instructions.
• Adhere to all Bureau Veritas policies, occupational safety regulations, laboratory safety protocols, and applicable Quality System Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct oneself in a safe and professional manner, wearing appropriate attire including necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with other essential functions and personnel within Bureau Veritas when necessary.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification and hazardous materials handling experience are advantageous; training will be provided as needed.
• Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks involving repeated lifting.
• Ability to handle weights of up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
• Open and inclusive attitude with a readiness to work in a team-oriented environment.
Working Conditions:
• High productivity levels in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• May involve repetitive tasks.
• Requires patience, determination, and resilience.
• Flexible hours, including potential overtime and shift work.
• May require prolonged periods of standing.
• Some lifting and carrying (up to 10 kg).
• Handling of hazardous materials in accordance with established safety protocols and equipment.

The salary range for this position is $19-$20.51, varying by work location and dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.
