Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of maintenance staff and oversee the maintenance of our parks and facilities, including trails, beaches, and campgrounds.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and plans to ensure the efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct regular inspections of our facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist with the procurement of supplies and equipment within budget.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
  • Assist with the management of service contracts and ensure that all maintenance work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including mowers, trimmers, ATVs, and skid steers.
  • Assist with trail maintenance, beach and dock maintenance, and other park-related tasks.
  • Install and maintain signage and other park features.
  • Assist with hazard tree management and invasive plant management programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance or operations role, preferably in a park or facility setting.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to be on call as required.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual duties outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
