**Salary**: Based on up to 40 hours per work week, $23.38 - $28.34 per hour

Shift premiums if applicable
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
- $2.75 per hour for evenings

Wage employees receive 11.2% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of paid holidays and vacation leave.
- 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

**Role Responsibilities**:

- We are looking to hire a Park Maintenance Worker 2 to work during the winter season from November, 2024 to March 31, 2025.

The position is an integral member of the wider Camrose District Maintenance team and depending on workload and staffing needs you may be asked to work at various sites in this Regions, primarily at Blackfoot Recreation Area and Miquelon Lake.

The majority of your work time will be spent outdoors with a primary focus on grooming and maintaining trails.

**Responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Maintaining trail systems using chainsaws, chippers, trimmers, hand tools and lawn mowers
- Operating power and hand tools to complete repairs and preventative maintenance tasks
- Operating equipment such as UTVs, riding lawnmowers, tractors, and winter trail grooming equipment
- Completing daily routine vehicle inspection and perform daily maintenance as required; report any mechanical or operational issues to the Supervisor
- Supporting tree removal and drainage work as needed
- Identifying and addressing potential public or employee safety issues while in the parks and report to the Supervisor
- Disposing of garbage and keep areas neat and clean; ensuring facilities are clean and maintained to Alberta Park’s standards

**To also be successful in this role, you will need to**:

- Ensure there is adherence to all pertinent policies, procedures, and protocols, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Government of Alberta guidelines.
- If needed, lead and participate in emergency protocols to provide support to visitors and staff in an emergency situation
- Practice safe work procedures and WHMIS when using cleaning chemicals

- Some high school education and 1 year of related experience in landscaping or trail maintenance with preference for experience with equipment operation and trail grooming background

**Additional Requirements**:

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with less than 6 demerits
- Demonstrated ability to perform demanding physical tasks, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions; good physical stamina
- Recognized Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate
