Destinationone Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Labour Relations Manager to join our team. As a Labour Relations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of HR professionals in providing specialized advice, services, and support in labour relations, compensation, and disability management.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and provide expert guidance to a team of HR Advisors, Workplace Health Specialists, and a Compensation Specialist.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for collective bargaining and lead negotiation of collective agreements.
- Assist management in resolving labour relations issues, grievance procedures, and arbitration.
- Foster positive and collaborative labour management relations.
- Develop and oversee corporate HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Manage compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, and analysis.
- Ensure compensation programs and policies comply with legislative requirements.
- Stay informed of best practices and trends in labour relations, disability management, and compensation.
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, with a minimum of 7-10 years of related HR, labour relations, and compensation experience (preferably in a public sector union environment).
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.
- Experience leading and managing a team of professional employees.
- Extensive knowledge of employment law, labour law, Human Rights legislation, and collective agreements.
- Strong ability to build and enhance strategic partnerships with managers, unions, and employees.
- Exceptional negotiation and mediation skills with a proven track record in resolving grievances.
- Excellent written skills for drafting contract and policy language.
- Proficiency in complex data analysis and research.
- Experience in managing HR projects and programs, and developing and delivering training to managers.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the values of Community, Integrity, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service.
