POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. This position is essential for identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will ensure the precision and reliability of financial records while contributing to the documentation and communication of accounting policies throughout the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and produce high-level financial performance reports, presentations, and dashboards.
- Conduct thorough variance analysis, assess cost structures, and pinpoint trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare statutory financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Assist with year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Contribute to the formulation of accounting policies for the organization.
- Support corporate tax and insurance-related matters.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA designation is required.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in an accounting firm is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is essential for effective communication with stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP for private enterprises), consolidation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the capability to interpret financial data and trends effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently when necessary.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft D365 Business is advantageous.
