Position Overview

The Patient Flow and Operations Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the coordination of patient care services across various facilities. Reporting directly to the Patient Access and Flow Manager, this position ensures the delivery of safe and efficient healthcare services, aligning with the mission and policies of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

This role encompasses the following responsibilities:

  • Manage patient flow and capacity issues effectively, ensuring optimal bed management and emergency response.
  • Support staff in addressing unanticipated operational challenges, particularly during after-hours situations.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including patients, families, healthcare professionals, and community partners, to enhance service delivery.
  • Utilize strategic and analytical skills to identify and resolve challenges, aiming for high-quality and cost-effective healthcare services.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred; degrees in related health disciplines may also be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an acute care environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in clinical utilization and familiarity with software related to bed management.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles and adult education methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using Patient Flow Dashboard tools and Meditech systems.
  • Competencies in additional languages, particularly French, are advantageous.
Work Schedule

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 75 hours bi-weekly, with shifts that may include days, nights, and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $51.54. Additionally, successful candidates may qualify for a signing bonus, contingent upon a defined Return of Service agreement. A comprehensive benefits package is available, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
