Electrical Estimator/Senior Estimator Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert cost estimation and planning services to our clients. Your primary focus will be on producing and presenting accurate cost plans, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible value for their investment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and present comprehensive cost plans, including detailed estimates and analysis.
  • Prepare and manage construction cost estimates for commercial, institutional, and residential projects across Canada.
  • Lead estimating and cost planning activities, taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Ensure effective management of cost analysis, cost checking, and valuation work.
  • Participate in value engineering, LEED analysis, and life cycle costing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clients and other consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare mechanical and electrical cost estimates for various asset classes and design levels.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and report to senior management.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Navisworks, and/or other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good knowledge of construction procurement methods.
  • Experience in advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience in business development and key account management.
  • Good knowledge and experience in multiple industry sectors.
Education/Experience:
  • Experience in preparing electrical cost estimates for complex construction projects.
  • Experience in managing electrical cost or estimating for data center, high-tech, manufacturing, commercial real estate, or related construction projects.
  • Construction experience with electrical systems.
  • Experience with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) a plus.
