Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Ontario Potato Dist. (Alliston) Inc. 1991. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building Systems Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Property Management: Advertise vacancies and show properties to potential tenants, ensuring a smooth and efficient rental process.
  • Contractor Coordination: Coordinate with contractors for major repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and quality workmanship.
  • Safety and Security: Conduct regular safety and security checks to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Team Support: Supervise and assist other team members as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project completion.
  • Physical Demands: Handle heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
  • Routine Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Independence: Work independently with minimal supervision, using your initiative and judgment to make decisions and take action.
Requirements
  • Education: No formal education required, but relevant training or certification is an asset.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Language Skills: English language proficiency is required.
  • Work Setting: Ability to work in a rural area with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The ability to work under pressure and handle physically demanding tasks is essential.
